Alleged report from Sahara Reporters’ Twitter handle, has revealed that 12 of President Muhamamdu Buhari’s Aides staying with him in London, are allegedly paid at least $1000 (N363k) nightly estacode, and they have stayed for 100 days.
This is aside from the cost of keeping a Nigerian Presidential jet at a London Airport, which the Presidency recently officially confirmed at $1,300 daily, which if multiplied by 100 days amount to a whopping sum of money.
These staggering amounts are being spent in a country, where its citizens live on less than one dollar a day, coupled with massive unemployment and unpaid salaries.
Last year, two of Nigeria’s 10 Presidential jets were put up for sale, as part of a cost-cutting campaign.
AIT News recalls, that Buhari took office in May 2015, after an election in which he vowed to crack down on corruption and mismanagement of public funds.
Recall, that Buhari jetted out of the country on May 7 for medical treatment, over an undisclosed ailment.
