Arsenal’s 2017/18 home kit officially launched at event in London
Arsenal legends such as Robert Pires and Martin Keown were present to launch the club’s new home shirt for the 2017/18 season.
The Gunners will, as ever, be in their traditional red and white strip, though next season’s socks are something a little different with a streak of red fading into white.
The shade of red is also slightly darker than usual, and they have also lost the touch of black from the collar that was in last season’s design, with this new edition a stylish mix of traditional and modern.
This will be the Gunners’ fourth season having their kit supplied by Puma, with most of the shirts released so far proving popular among supporters.
However, this year could include some slightly more controversial away kits, with a new-look light blue expected to be confirmed later in the summer, along with a black and pink third alternative.
A recent leaked promotional picture showed star duo Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil modelling the new strip, suggesting perhaps that Arsene Wenger would be true to his word and decide not to sell the pair this summer despite their precarious contract situations.
Sanchez and Ozil have been pictured in it again, along with Olivier Giroud as one of the main promotional snaps, though neither were at the official unveiling.
Arsenal will wear the new kit for the first time in the Premier League as they open the 2017/18 campaign at home to Leicester City on 12 August.
Do you like the new Arsenal home kit?
