Britain’s failure to offer the right to self-determination to Nigeria’s indigenous peoples violated the United Nations General Assembly Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples adopted on 14 December 1960. Paragraph 5 of the Declaration required that immediate steps be taken by the colonial power “to transfer all powers to the peoples of those [colonized] territories…in accordance with their freely expressed will and desire…in order to enable them to enjoy complete independence and freedom.”  The 1970 Declaration on Principles of International Law concerning Friendly Relations and Cooperation among States in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations emphasized that, “By virtue of the principle of equal rights and self-determination of peoples enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, all peoples have the right freely to determine, without external interference, their political status….”

Militants Overpowers 4 Soldiers In Niger Delta, Takes Them To Creek & Shot Them Dead.. Details

A couple of Nigerian soldiers operating in the Niger Delta area of Nigeria have been gruesomely murdered in an ambush by suspected militants.

Unknown gunmen, suspected to be militants, have reportedly killed four soldiers and a civilian in Bayelsa State.

The suspects were said to have laid an ambush for the soldiers along the waterways of Letugbene, Ekeremor Local Government Area of the state.

Some security sources confirmed that a team of soldiers returning from Letugbene community on Monday became victims of an ambush laid by armed youths believed to be militants.

In a move aimed at humiliating Nigeria and diminishing its influence in the West African Sub region, Morocco a northern African country has been admitted as a member of ECOWAS.

President Buhari's uncolourful foreign policy has contributed to the lowering of the image of the country as he has refused to pay Nigeria's financial responsibility to the sub regional organization which currently stands at about $700,000.

Biafra protest: Buratai, 13 others charged to US district court

- Nigeria's Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Tukur Buratai has been sued to a US district court 

- Buratai was sued alongside 13 others, for complicity in the torture and extra judicial killing of pro-Biafrans 

- The torture and killings were allegedly carried out in 2016, during a pro-Biafra protest 

Ten Biafra supporters have charged Lt General Tukur Buratai to a United States (U.S.) District Court for the District of Columbia.

Right now, I feel it is important to draw the attention of all Biafrans and in fact the international community as well to what the Biafrans are fighting for i.e the restoration of the Republic of Biafra. The series of injustice perpetuated against the people of Biafra was initiated by a mercenary soldier working on behalf of the British government. His name was Fredrick Lugard.

In the year 1914, Lugard as colonial administrator and friend of the Hausa-Fulani using his connections with the British colonial office committed the most outrageous fraud in human history by unilaterally declaring the amalgamation of northern and southern protectorate in our part of Africa and naming these territories NIGERIA. This British mercenary did not consult the people before forcing them into an unholy union of his dreams. The name Nigeria was really a coinage from two words, Niger i.e the river Niger and area meaning the area of land around the river Niger.

The leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) headed by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu yesterday rejected the plea of the governors of the Southeast zone of Nigeria during a meeting between the pro-Biafra group and the politicians.

Biafra Choice writers was reliably informed by an insider that after long hours of the closed door meeting at the Enugu Government House, the governors were unable to convince Kanu to drop his agitation for Biafra.
